2020/21
Albion Fields, ancient grazing land on the gentler slopes of the west cliff of the city of Lincoln in the UK,
was the site for an investigation of human and non-human processes during COVID-19 lockdowns.
Quietly unyielding with a deep-rooted imperative, the sweet-æcer of willow herb closes in to gently map the soft belly of the hill. Hiding its damp earth layer and unseen for 'as long as anyone can remember' earth remains notknown.
Straining body and breath to the inescapable drone of anxiety.
An alien land. An unfamiliar view.
A dislocating, nebulous sense of danger.
Gravity is personal, natural and cosmic: an undiscriminating and
relentless force working within all things without judgment.
